My philosophy
As a voice teacher, my philosophy is grounded in the belief that every student, regardless of background, experience, or ability, deserves a safe, inclusive, and empowering space to explore and develop their voice. My approach is student-centered, with a deep commitment to meeting each individual where they are—both vocally and emotionally—and guiding them through a process of discovery, growth, and self-expression.
Singing is a deeply personal and vulnerable act, and I approach every lesson with empathy and respect for the emotional and physical work involved. I believe that voice lessons should be a safe space for exploration, where students can push boundaries and experiment with sound without fear of judgment. My role as a teacher is not to impose my own vision of what a student’s voice should be, but to guide them in developing their vocal technique and self-expression in a way that aligns with their goals and values.
I embrace flexibility in my teaching, recognizing that students will progress at different rates. Some may need extra time to master technical aspects of singing, while others may focus on building stage presence or emotional expression. By meeting students where they are, I can offer guidance that is sensitive to their specific needs and challenges, always encouraging patience, persistence, and self-compassion along the way.
